Safety Note:
Never install a walk in bath without fitting a TMV3 thermostatic
blending valve on the supply pipes to the taps. Failure to do so is
extremely dangerous and quite frankly borders on stupidity. By its
nature, a walk in bath requires the user to enter, close the door
and begin the filling process. It is at this point that the occupant
is most vulnerable.
It is essential that water entering
the bath from the taps (or filling device) is guaranteed to be at a
safe temperature. Scalding water is responsible for many appalling
injuries and deaths every year. In combination, scalding water and
limited mobility or reduced sensitivity is a recipe for disaster.
For these reasons of safety the Little Gem walk-in bath should always be fitted with
a thermostatic blending valve to protect the user. Never be tempted
to cut corners (or let anybody else tell you it doesn't matter) when
installing any type of walk in bath. Always fit a TMV3 blending
valve.
