Luxor walk in bath
Products designed to aid a person with mobility problems can often look a
little institutional, or a little over engineered and industrial. All that
has changed. The Luxor Bath really does represent the pinnacle of luxury
incorporating the cutting edge of technology.
Manufactured with processes and materials normally associated with the
marine industry the Luxor bath is immensely strong, totally practical and
pleasing on the eye. The Luxor looks right at home in any bathroom and
replaces any standard bath with a minimal amount of fuss.
The Luxor bath boasts so many
features
Side entry door
The side entry door makes access and
exit so much easier and safer than clambering over the edge of a
normal bath. This is a huge advantage when the user is a little
unsteady or movement is restricted.
Twin motor belt lift
The twin motor belt lift conveys the
user evenly whether lifting or lowering (unlike certain single motor
devices that continually tip the occupant over as they pay out or
hoist up).
Fully recline in your full length bath
Because the belt is only thin the user
is lowered right to the bottom of the bath, so full and proper
immersion can be enjoyed when the bath is filled (unlike bath chairs
or seats that by their nature hold the occupant up away from the
floor of the bath and out of the water).
Convenient seat height
The height of the belt
lift (when at the top) also makes sitting down or standing up a
little less difficult. |

Touch sensitive controls
The control for all functions of the bath are managed by touch sensitive
buttons conveniently positioned without having to reach. These control the
belt lifting mechanism and the water flow and temperature - which is
delivered to the bath pre-mixed through a single spout located at the foot
end of the bath. There are additional touch sensitive controls if you choose
the luxurious hydrotherapy spa option.
Scald protection with a thermostatic safety
valve
Safety features highly with all our walk-in baths and the Luxor is no
exception. Scalding is a very real issue with baths - especially the type
where you have to be 'in place' before you start pouring water. It doesn't
take too much imagination to picture what might happen if scalding hot water
suddenly starts entering the bath - all over the unsuspecting occupant! For
this reason the bath is protected by a device known as a TMV3. This is a
thermostatic mixing valve (TMV). The number (3) denotes the highest category
of protection (from 1-3) offered (equivalent to NHS requirements). The TMV3
installs in the hot and cold water pipes to the bath and by blending in cold
water when necessary enables you to set the maximum temperature that hot
water can enter the bath. [Never be tempted to use a
walk-in bath without a TMV3 - no matter who advises you to the contrary]
To complete the picture there is the structure of the bath itself.
Manufactured in much the same way as a small boat, the bath is super-strong
with a durable surface to match. Rigidity is particularly important in a
bath that incorporates a side door. Inferior manufacturing materials and
techniques have left some manufacturers mopping up serious leaks! A lesson
to be observed - not all products are the same, even though they look
similar.
The Luxor bath is the product of much testing and development. It represents
a fine blend of luxury and technology to provide you with ultimate enjoyment
- from both ownership and use.
