What we often overlook is the fact that buildings move. Your home is a living breathing thing that swells and contracts with temperature. Imagine your traditional shower enclosure. Over a period the damp conditions created by the leak become the perfect breeding ground for bacteria. Before you know it you may have rot to deal with. Then of course there is the smell. As mildew prospers the smell increases. If you can't see you have a leak this can be a frustrating and smelly mystery.
