Ask yourself this - So why weren't you offered the better price in the first place? It's a scandal. Price matching may on the face of it look like a great way to save a few pounds but in fact you are being played by chancers who want to charge as much as they can until you catch them at it! Providing you do all the work comparing prices they will happily drop their price when you happen to find a better deal. What a bargain! Do you want really want to do business with somebody who has been caught trying to pick your pocket? There is no excuse. Businesses know exactly what they should charge. Price matching is a lazy and cynical attempt to recover having been caught overcharging. You can tell a lot about the company with whom you do business simply by observing whether they genuinely wish to bring you low prices and care about you as a customer. Wouldn't you rather deal with a company who lead the way by offering low prices without being prompted?
